Saw chamku today and I thought it was a very decent film. With a plot thats a no-brainer it moves very well and has some very cool encounters ;) . The film even managed to show rajpal yadav in a very sober role which I thought was a very big achievement. Irfan Khan was a scence stealer and the real star.

Is the opening action sequence all that its made out to be? Been hearing a lot of praise for it but wasn't sure if it would be worth the trouble of watching it.

the opening sequence is damn good but thats not the only sequence that needs a rewind. The film is very uneven but has lots of very well shot sequences and I thought it was all done in a very gritty and tenuous sort of way without unnecessary background music and too much time spent on a single individual other than bobby deol.I also liked the fact that irfan khan did most of the talking in the film because the dialogues were pithy and well constructed. The love angle with priyanka C was completely unnecessary but it does not get in the way at any point in time.The movie deserves to be seen.

Saw this a week back and agree with Ganesh - it was a pretty damn good film with a higher than average number of badass moments. Bobby Deol was actually pretty convincing in his role as a lobotomised robotic gun for hire and Irrfan Khan owned the role Om Puri assayed in a very lackadaisical manner in the similarly themed Mukhbiir. I think this tanked largely because of the posters which implied a shitty Karan Johar Yash Chopra type cunt wrangling.

Well now that I had something to compare it to, it did seem lackadaisical. You OTOH couldn't come up with any convincing explanation on why you thought he was phoning it in *-)
