Ahrimanic Trance from thew Wolves In The Throne Room album. This stuff is massive. At times it's like finding a colossal block of concrete slowly setting on top of your coffin lid when you've just woken up after being prematurely buried.

Sun Ra & His Arkestra - Lanquidity
Awesome jazz that just soaks in these never-ending, spacey jams. One of his more accessible works too.

^^ Oh man, some of his not so accessible stuff is just ridiculous, headache inducing stuff.
Everlast - Love, War and the Ghost of Whitey Ford Latest album from the man, came out last year. His focus seems to have shifted from the streets and religion and Eminem baiting to a more socially aware outlook and the hip hop has bite and Everlast sounds pissed off and angry when he's rapping. Unfortunately, its on the more rock oriented songs that he comes across as a very cheesy hackneyed wannabe Bruce Springsteen and the album looses all momentum. Very uneven album from the man.

Listening to Zoroaster's new album, VOICE OF SATURN. These guys have seriously upped their game since DOG MAGIC. I enjoyed that album for a while, but this one just grows on me with each listen.
Also spinning Giant Squid's THE ICHTHYOLOGIST quite a bit. Kinda sounds like Sunny Day Real State gone desert rock-ish. 16's BRIDGES TO BURN has made a re-entry to the playlist.

Blut Aus Nord - Memoria Vetusta II Dialogue With The Stars
Sounds extremely promising on first listen.
Jex Thoth - S/t
I'm not digging this one at all.

Amesoeurs - S/t
This plays out like a really wimpy, ball-less, watered down version of newer-Katatonia except with a pronounced pop-vibe throughout. The female vocals completely put me off this. The very little black metal that it does contain is very mediocre and not inspired at all. The production is crystal clear but the drums and bass are boring as fuck. Fuck Neige and fuck his shoegaze bullshit. I can already see people claiming this album to be the saving grace of all black metal to come. Stick with Le Secret and Mortifera and you're good to go.
Absu - S/t
Simply put, this slays.

Did you say a wimpy balless watered down version of Katatonia? You've got me REALLY curious now cause in my book Katatonia defined wimpy balless and watered down. I mean Coldplay sound like Slayer compared to that Tear Gas shit.

Yup. It's pretty fucked up. As an aside, have you heard their latest album, The Great Cold Distance?
Khors - Mysticism
Amebix - Monolith
Dark Filth Fraternity - Breathe Again

Not just the percussive shit, it sounds like random noises made at random times strung together to some random order and then called experimental jazz or some such. Can't handle it and find it very aggravating.
Anyway been listening to the same old five albums on repeat so new Absu, Giant Squid, Blut Aus Nord, Zoroaster and Wolves in the Throne Room are all rocking my world.

Somewhat similar scene here. That Zoroaster album is seriously kickass. Also digging the new Cobalt album, Gin although the title keeps making me sing KISS's 'Cold Gin' to myself only with the chorus altered to 'it's cobalt gin time again!' which is somewhat detrimental to my mental stability.

Believer - Gabriel
The band is back after a good 16 years and on first listen Gabriel sounds pretty good. Maybe not on the level of Sanity Obscure or Dimensions but pretty good all the same. The music is thrashy but with the usual technical acrobatics that the band is known for. Not as much of the classical mix like on Dimensions but some good stuff here.
Les Claypool - Of Fungi and Foe
Found this really fucking annoying.
