Fucking great riffs, infectiously catchy choruses and cheesy as hell lyrics. Fantastic album start to end. i second you on this one Baba! this is just soo perfect!and the album just sits on top of all the other bands/albums of the genre!fucking sleazy n cheesy!

Heard Five Leaves Left by Nick Drake. Good album but a little too mellow to sit through start to finish. After a while, Drake's polite mumbling vocal style gets on my nerves a little. And he's nowhere near the brilliant lyricist people make him out to be. Another example of early death thrusting genius on someone who was merely good at what he did. Al Stewart's worst career move I guess, was staying alive. He still produces great albums but gets nowhere near as much attention as someone significantly less talented like Drake.

I haven't heard Nick Drake but one another problem with Al Stewart and recognition as a brilliant songster is that he uses actual MUSIC, as opposed to just aimlessly twanging on a guitar or (infinitely, INFINITELY worse) blowing into a harmonica, which is y'know the sign of a tr00 rebel or iconoclast or angst bucket whatever.

Also makes him a difficult act to cover in college competitions.
