Yeah, all cities are largely 'of metal' but you ought to get my drift. I was wondering where the largest congregation of metal outfits might have emerged from. Then I realised I was thinking of San Francisco. Anyhow, I'll leave that for the Bay Area thrash fanatics and go for another one.

Seattle



Who knows, in the LA strip around the 90s, there were probably guys in spandex going "One does not simply walk into Seattle!" in hushed tones. Though their talisman happens to be the (mostly) annoying Nirvana, they can also boast of Soundgarden, Alice in Chains and Sanctuary/Nevermore. Though they might not in the case of Nevermore, which is sort of sad. Oh yeah, Pearl Jam had their moments too, despite the fact that they thrust Eddy Vedderisms upon the world. Probably not metal, though. Hey, is that it? Maybe I should have chosen New Orleans.
