Totally second Lionheart being mindblowingly fantastic. I recall Maiden had Dance of Death around that time and I was REALLY upset that album, one of the worst in Maiden's discography, would sell tons more than this one.
Started the day of with Purple by Stone Temple Pilots, their only worthwhile album IMO (though JP says Tiny Music has its moments too). Also bought Who Do We Think We Are by Deep Purple, an album I'd stayed away from given that Jon Lord himself dismissed it as rubbish and the fact that it had Woman from Tokyo which is a very irritating song. But the rest of the album scorches - Rat Bat Blue and Mary Long are phenomenal songs. You really can't tell these guys were at each other's throats given the enthusiasm with which they play.

Yeah, Tiny Music is quite fun. Wouldn't mind Core so much if most of the songs weren't so same-y.

La Ira de Dios - Apus Revolution Rock 4th album from this Peruvian outfit and they've dropped most of the psych rock influences to come out with a largely punk/garage rock inspired album of riff rock. The bass which used to be upfront is now pushed to the back and the music has more in common with the stooges and mc5 than Hawkwind or kraut rock but overall this is still a very enjoyable album with some super riffing and an awesome rhythm section.
High on Fire - Snakes for the Divine This is awesome. There's no two ways about it. Just about every song here works and the band has become a little more old school heavy metal on this one. Not as many huge stoner riffs and overall I think this might be their best yet. Bastard Samurai and How Dark We Pray are easily two of the best songs this band has ever written. Super stuff.
Borknagar - UniversalA solid return to form after the acoustic wankery of the previous album. Vintersorg's vocals are still the weakest link in Borknagar for me but the music has taken on a progressive epic feel and the songs by and large work well. This is mostly impressive epic extreme metal that has its roots in black metal but is constantly pushing boundaries.
Rotting Christ - AEALO Theogonia was a brilliant album. This one's catchier and more melodic and those Greek ethnic melodies are integrated superbly into the songs but some of the melodies sound a bit too ordinary for this band. I think the album will suffer in comparison to the previous album but overall another winner from the band.
White Hills - White Hills Fantastic psych rock. Sort of like Farflung's last album but with an even more pronounced Hawkwind/70s influence with a completely awesome drummer who really gives these songs life. The guitars are super fuzzy and the bass provides some solid backing and overall this album sounds great after a couple of listens. I'm loving it.

1. Arctic Monkeys - Humbug: Bah, Humbug... I liked the white noise late 60s touch to Crying Lightning, but overall, the album feels a little flat.
2. Minor Threat - Complete Discography: sXe 4 life! Fun...
3. Iron Maiden - Dance of Death: Dunno why Hathya hates it so... Its still Maiden enough for me.

In Mourning - Monolith Awful album. Definitively mediocre. I am shocked that the people invovled with this album didn't keel over and die of boredom while recording it. I almost keeled over and died just listening to it.
