The new High on Wire, which is some great dirty uptempo stuff. Especially the opener, that's a killer.

This avante-garde/experimental/ambient/black metal/something called Black Harvest, which actually is a lot better than the descriptions. A bit harsh and raw during the aggro bits, but no biggie.

New Deadsoul Tribe, which isn't too bad, to say the truth. Takes a while to pick up, and I think it might take a few spins to really get into it. Graves' voice gets a little more twisted this time around.

Repeats of Communic and Mustasch. Tried to play along but the former is tuned down to D and the latter to C, so it's a bit tricky.<br><br>Post edited by: chaxster, at: 2007/08/19 22:04

The new Obituary which I frankly like it a lot more than the first listen. About on par with Frozen in Time.

The High on Fire is fucking ace. Shot straight up to the top 10 of this year. More melodic/less atonal and brilliant production by Eldino.

The new Abscess is ass-kicking. Autopsy fans, check it out fo sure.

I also went through about 25 of my favourite albums this year in the past 3 days. Amazing.

Opeth - Damnation

Needs no introduction.

Been hearing a lot of Ted Nugent - the first three albums. While I don't really mind his 80s stuff (cheesy production notwithstanding, nothing comes in the way of Nugent hunkering down and playing his ass off during the solos - check out Little Miss Dangerous or Bound and Gagged), these albums work a lot better. Nugent unleashes a vast succession of songs that are still the largest parrt of his setlist like Stranglehold, Stormtroopin, Wang Dang Sweet Poontang, Cat Scratch Fever and even the non-hit tracks are fucking brilliant. Essential if you like bluesy hard rock.

O)h the new Yakuza seems good too. A bit mellower than Samsara but still very interesting. Am yet to hear it end to end though.

What do they play? Seen them featured in Metal Hammer on a lot.

Oh they are a huge amalgam of styles: death metal, hardcore, prog, jazz - i think they have a full time trumpet player in the band. It works quite well really.

Hey! It's the slightly bigger bowwow. Vannakam saar. Spent a lot of the time today hearing Astro Creep 2000. Pretty impressive. it's a pity Zombie ussed out so totally on the next album.

i havent been able to find it on any label/distro list,it was out last year i think,right? its badly distributed release.
