Man, that Yakuza is GOOD. Some of the clean sung vocals were weak but otherwise this seems like a keeper. That's the good thing about a good band becoming popular - with Mastodon's mainstream success-of-sorts, looks like a band like this is getting some attention too. Similar to Opeth's success getting Porcupine Tree their long due attention in the mainstream.

Ah Isis! This was the one band that has me scratching my head wondering what the fuss is all about. I find them occasionally decent but not much more. I think the only band I've tried to like more has been Dream Theater.

Tomahawk's 2007 album called Anonymous. Mike Patton with Duane Dennison from The Jesus Lizard on guitar and bass and John Stainer who used to drum for Helmet. Pretty good ecletic world music type thing going on here.

Baroness - The Red Album is fucking good. Been through at least a couple of listens so far and I think all fans of the Sludge/Drone style music should give this a go.
