Wolves In The Throne Room - Two Hunters
Just as good in the afternoon as it is at 2am. A superb black metal album.
The Ocean - Precambrian
A 2 CD set, my MP3 is missing 2 songs from each CD but all the same, this is brilliant stuff. Channeling everything from Meshuggah and Isis to trip hop and symphonic elements this sounds quite brilliant.
Five Horse Johnson - The Mystery Spot
Awesome bluesy hard rock. Loving this and the harmonica solos are damn good fun.
Zoroaster - Dog Magic

@Hathya - Can you be coerced to say a little about your favorite KC albums and pile them rank-wise? I haven't heard anything post 'Red' and love everything in entirety till that one.

Post-red huh? I'll give it a go too.
If Red is 5/5, it's followed by:
Discipline - 4.5/5
Beat - 4/5
Three of a Perfect Pair - 3/5
THRAK - 4/5
Construktion of light - 3.5/5
Power to Believe - 3.5/5
Also, there are a couple of excellent DVDs, one from a couple of mid-80s shows called Neal and Jack and Me (Fripp/Levin/Belew/Bruford) and another one from right after Power To Believe called Eyes Wide Open (Fripp/Belew/Gunn/Mastelotto). I've not seen the double-power-trio one called Deja Vroom though. I'm sure that's kickass too.

Portal-Outre
Despite the discordant skewed up sound and tracks drenched in constant buzzing distortion theres something strangely addictive about this album. Or it could be the lack of sleep, caffeine and ungodly work hours finally taking its toll. Need to give this a couple more listens before i make up my mind.
Disembowelment - Transcendence Into The Peripheral
Everything soul crushing Doom should be. And more.
Playing on loop at night for about a week now. Cant love this album enough.

Here Die Your Gods
I downloaded this one after seeing this post. Fucking killer - I heard their album when they were still called Goregasm and it was nothing like this. I'm sensing a major step up or maybe I wasn't paying attention back then. One of the most kickass tech death bands.
Also played some of the blast from the past bands. Acrimony and Dystopia. These were two of the cult bands in the budding stoner/sludge scenes; just great stuff. Two extreme ends of this whole genre pigeonhole.
Listening to The Ocean's Precambrian. I have real strong feelings about this album. I think I'm going to ask her to marry me.

Shape of Despair's Angels of Distress and Illusion's Play back to back funeral doom goodness.
Also played Black Flag's My War after a good two years and it doesn't disappoint at all. I can see why the second half of the album pioneered a couple of sub-genres at the least.

The Ocean - Precambrian
Darkthrone - FOAD
The most fun album from them in a long while. There's a clear progression from the last with clean shouty punk vocals and some deadly motorhead meets black metal songs. I think if Darkthrone pursue this style for another album they'll leave black metal behind completely.
Morrigan - Plague, Waste and Death
A 2 man black metal band that to a large extent pays homage to Bathory's Under The Sign and Blood Fire Death but manages at the same time to pull off a terrific album.

Boris/Merzbow - Rock Dream
Finally heard the full album which is a mammoth 2 CD set that's a collabaration between Japanese Noise God Masami Akita aka Merzbow and Japanese sludge/doom/stoner loonies Boris. The album was recorded live and seems to follow the same kind of jam format that Boris had in their album with Sun O))) last year. This one's way better than Altar though as Merzbow seems a little subdued on disc 1 and lets Boris do most of the talking while both bands fucking explode on disc 2. Still, Akita's usual electronic noise does not overpower Boris's sludge but enhances in quite an awesome manner. This one is worth tracking down for fans of completely underground stoner/doom/noise shite.
