Am halfways through Kamasutra Vastsyayan (starring Sudesh Motherfucking Berry), which is proving to be the definitive camp-companion to Girish Karnad's Utsav.

Just got done with Kiran Nagarkar's Ravan & Eddie and it was fucking hilarious. A highly entertaining and satisfactory read.
Also started off with Neil Gaiman's Fragile Things which is a collection of various short stories and poems. It begins with the much lauded, A Study In Emerald, a well woven yarn where Sherlock Holmes meets the Chthulhu Mythos. It's shaping out to be a good read on the whole.
Also caught a couple of episodes of Batman: The Animated Series based on Bruce Timm's awesomely gritty artwork. This series never gets old.

Started to watch Taken, big dumb action flick about some ex-CIA guy whose daughter gets (surprise!) taken by the Albanian prostitution mafia. Liam Neeson is not a particularly good advertisement for the CIA and its methods since his modus operandi seems to be rushing into every single scenario all guns blazing which makes for a fun sort of movie. Not something I'd pay to see though. Oh and finished Stuck. Apart from the warden character who was sheer genius on 'Accident', there's little that separates the two films. I'd go for Stuck though because of the additional gore factor. While it doesn't come anywhere close to Gordon's goriest moments in Renanimator, it does raise the film a little.

Saw Up in the Air new George Clooney movie from the guy who did Thank You For Smoking. Pretty good watch with Clooney playing a guy who works a company that is hired by corporates who are downsizing their workforce. It's Clooney's job to tell people they're fired and he's damn good at it. Overall a pretty good watch and the chemistry between Clooney and Vera Farmiga is super hot. Overall, liked this one. Also finally saw The Tournament with Ving Rhames, Robert Carlyle and Kelly Hu which is about a tournament of assasins held every seven years. Pretty fuck all. Saw Give 'em Hell, Malone which is a modern noir with Thomas Jane as Malone. A tough all guns blazing kind of guy and overall very fuck all movie with loads of action sequences and absolutely no substance.

I present to you The Expendables (2010). Starring Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Mickey Rourke, Eric Roberts and guest appearances by Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis.
The theatrical trailer confirms all our suspicions by showing mindless explosions (and of course they're running away from it in slo-mo), cheesy one-liners and bad jokes. I can't fucking wait.

Watch it ra.
Finally got round to watching Chopper last night. Pretty good movie and thankfully had subtitles. The Aussie accent is still ringing in my ears though.

Been looking forward to it, but it's going to be a disappointment if they end up releasing the pg-13 version.

Finished Taken It was a very fun experience overall especially reading Filthy and Ebert lamenting its idiotic nature, with Filthy of course being a lot more forthright and indignant in his critique. It's a remarkably brainless movie.
