Variety reports that Harbor Light Entertainment and Japanese company Lotus have decided to move forward with a remake of legendary Japanese filmmaker Akira Kurosawa's classic crime-drama Rashomon with plans to release it in 2010 as part of the 100th Anniversary celebration of Kurosawa's birth. The new version will be tentatively titled "Rashomon 2010" and while the story will still be about a court case surrounding the rape of a woman and the murder of her husband, in this case, it will take place in modern-day America. This is the company's second attempt at getting this project off the ground after a failed attempt in 2001.
"Now with only ONE point of view!"

Dashumon - Conveniently adapted, where Kamal Hassan plays all characters in the movie, each speaking a different flavour of tamil, and the lead Kamal taking the time out to dance with the loud ass bitch A(na)sin. Tedious masala junk on a much bigger scale, but guaranteed 5/5 on kvltsite and a hotly debated comments section.

Slashomon - Three teens at a summer camp recount the terrifying events of the past 24 hours where 7 of their friends were killed in suspicious events. After going through all 3 points, they realise that all of them are bullshitting and it was in fact each of them who murdered their more annoying tentmates. Hilarity ensues.

Spidermon - Where Peter Parker suddenly decides to be mallu and dance mohiniyattam furiously with Mary Jane Watson to prove his love to her, when out of the blue, Uncle Ben of "great-responibility" fame suddenly gets murdered. Spiderman fighting various suspects while web-slinging coconut tree-to-tree and getting their viewpoints of the murder makes up for the rest of the blockbuster.

Crashomon - Four people of different ethnic origins get involved in a quadruple fender bender during rush hour and as they start cursing everyone else and their heritage, we get flashbacks of each character which explain how they became racist. Then, a cop shows up and shoots all of them.

Vikram-aur-betaalmon - Where Vikram has to come up with wise answers to Betaal's morally complex situational stories. But not before Betaal gets his buddies from the treetop to share their viewpoints of the same stories with Vikram.

Who cares? Kurosawa's films are tediously boring and uninvolving. Not to mention really overrated.
Ozu FTW.

M*A*S*Homon - A landmine victim ends up on the operating table in front of Capt. Hawkeye Pierce, but doesn't survive the surgery. Did the moonshine-fuelled debauchery in the Swamp the previous night affect his performance? Frank and Hot Lips certainly seem to think so, though Trapper claims otherwise. Finally, they inspect the patient again and discover he was only faking death to get sent home. Klinger kicks himself for not having thought of it first.

Wilsonmon - A dramatic story of Wilson, the volleyball who gets stranded in an island. Wilson must now learn to endure the emotional and physical stress of his new life, unsure of when he may return to the civilization he knew before. Situation becomes even scarier for Wilson when a schizophrenic Tom Hanks keeps switching personalities and hams the same story from different viewpoints.

Splashomon - Tom Hanks' relationships keep failing because he has a fish fetish that freaks out his girlfriends. Daryl Hannah needs a figurehead for her underwater puppet government. When they meet, they both play their cards close to their chest, and so remain oblivious to each others' true motives. They go on to use each other for their own purposes and only towards the watery end do they both see the truth and do a simultaneous forehead-slap.
