Twin Peaks 4 Years, 3 Months ago
Never been a big fan of David Lynch and his movies apart from Elephant Man and Wild at Heart but for some reason I downloaded both seasons of Twin Peaks and the movie and have been watching it quite religiously over the last two weeks or so. I'm about halfway through season 2 and Laura Palmer's killer has finally been revealed.

Anyway, this series has just completely blown my mind. From a couple of great scares to maintaining an atmosphere of unease and dread to complete screwball comedy I've never seen anything like this before that was meant for TV.

What do you guys think of Twin Peaks? Any fans of the show? or haters?

A die-hard fan here. I love this series. One of the best things I've ever seen in my life. Needless to say my life changed drastically for the better ever since I stumbled across this. Lynch's magnum opus. Can't for the life of me believe anything he'll do can ever better this. I'm even thinking of buying the definitive gold edition complete package from Amazon.

I should get back to this. I had started watching both Twin Peaks and Paranoia Agent before my computer crashed a couple of months back. Haven't gone back to them since.

But from what I saw, Kyle MacLachlan was really brilliant. I liked that, inspite of having the usual Lynchian oddball situations, it had a respect for plot and coherence unlike his recent works.

Same scene as Bhalla. Saw the first season - genuinely good but never continued. I'll have to start all over once I'm done with the Trek.

Finished this last night. Terrific show even if the pace drops in season 2 with a whole bunch of typical soapy plot lines and bizzaro comedy situations once Laura Palmer's murderer is identified. The middle few episodes on season 2 are pretty fucking dull with only one decent storyline but then the last episode of season 2 is a fucking belter. Pity we'll never get to know what happens after.

Kyle McLachlan is terrific right through the series. His performance particularly when his character has a broken rib etc. after being shot was really quite awesome. Also, the guy who plays Laura's father was great as well. He went from touching to creepy to just plain bizarre but all the time managed to be a sympathetic figure. The guy who plays Ben Horne also did a great job and I found myself rooting for him again and again particularly when he has his breakdown. Finally, Audrey Horne is pretty much the perfect combination of cute and sexy.

This whole series also had some terrific dialogue and a whole lot of incredibly creepy moments.

Going to give this a break for a bit and come back to the Fire Walk With Me movie. Great stuff and I'm tempted to check out more Lynch. Should I?

^^yup! even Straight Story is a good watch. Though it plays pretty much to the title and has none of those weirdness you would expect from a Lynch film.

Haven't seen Lost Highway but the other two bored the crap out of me. At least Eraserhead when you're stoned keeps you interested but I found Blue velvet to be ridiculously over hyped. Whats the deal with this movie? Why is it such a loved and talked about celluloid experience?
